It takes numerous money to create and hold a platform that may support hundreds of thousands
of simultaneous users. We’ve become conversant in “free” systems like Facebook (certainly it’s not free. We pay with ads, and that they sell our data for their income), so I’m not bound how here's going to alter. Viber comes close since it’s fairly feature rich and free for consumers, but I really dislike the subsidized material. I think the time may be approaching where we see a shift toward paid
services again that ensure our privacy. That will mean a shift clear of Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail, and onto deepest paid (and optimistically open sourced) platforms (I use protonmail).
